PHOTOGRAPH

This is a photograph of you and me
I kept it all these years, you see
I miss your laugh so terribly
And I wonder sometimes
If you still laugh so uproariously

This is a photograph when we were young
In this one, I am sticking out my tongue
Climbing monkey bars, rung after rung
Until the recess bell said we were done

This is a photograph from long ago
It reminds me how I miss you so
And why was it you had to go
I will always remember you smiling though
